This is the first day since what feels like an eternity that I haven't had a huge paper to do or a test to cram for. And I have no classes for the rest of the day. It feels so goodo to finally get to relax... Even though I technically should be studyinng for finals... But I can push that off a little long :D
So, sadly the relationship between the my roomie and me and our suitemates went from slightly awkward but otherwise apathetic to a bit hostile. On Friday night they had a bunch of their friends over in our lounge and they didn't leave until about 2 am... And they were aparently engaging in activity that they really should not have been doing (especially considering that our building is stricter about drinking then any other one in the entire campus).
Now here's the strange part... Our lounge has a bunch a pieces of furniture, most of which bought by and paid for between the four of us, including a $40 rug that belonged to ALL OF US. Saturday morning it was gone. How the hell do you LOSE A RUG??!! We saw one of our suitemates, A, that night and asked politely about it... She said she didn't know and to ask S, our other suitemate.
We didn't see S until the next night... Flo(my roomate) asked in her normal, non-confrontational tone if she knew what happened to the rug... S snapped "I DON"T KNOW!" and slammed the door in her face before she could get another word in. How can you not know what happened to a rug? It didn't just get up and walk away!!
We haven't seen or talked to the suitemates since then, but we have since taken most of the stuff that belongs to us out of the lounge and moved it to our room. That rug wasn't cheap and we ALL paid for it, it belonged to ALL of us, they had no right to let one of their friends run off with it or steal it or whatever happened...
Its too bad... We tried to be friends with them at the begining of the semester. We invited them to hang out with us when we went places, I drove them to the mall once, and Flo cleaned up after one of S's drunk friends after he puked all over the bathroom floor even though she had NO obligation to do so... Its not such a big deal that we're not friends... but it'd be nice if they respected our stuff and the fact that we SHARE this space with them. I guess I shouldn't complain though... I could be worse XD
